Sonny began his career working with at-risk teens in 1996. He has worked closely with youth as the program director/administrator for multiple state & private treatment programs. Sonny is excellent in cultivating relationships with young people. He is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. He has an excellent working knowledge and creative ideas that are crucial to running a successful mental health treatment facility. His professional abilities and love for the youth adds strength to the Red Hawk Academy for Girls program.
Glen Horlacher has been a licensed marriage and family therapist for 23 years and is licensed in the state of Arizona and Nevada. He has worked with adolescents in the Nevada Mental Health Early Childhood and Adolescent departments. His love for helping people led him to start a private practice working with couples and their children. Glen most recently spent two decades working in private therapy practice helping families and their children. He specializes in anger, domestic abuse, victim issues and substance abuse related issues. Glen’s extensive experience with families and youth makes him a great part of the Red Hawk Academy for Girls team. In his personal life, Glen has been married to his wife Kellee Anne for 30 years. Together they have raised 4 sons who are now out in the world discovering their own lives.
Valerie completed her Master’s degree at the University of Utah in Social Work and her Bachelor’s Degree at Brigham Young University in Sociology. She has worked with troubled adolescents in numerous settings. She loves to work therapeutically with teens and help them develop self-worth and promote growth. Valerie’s favorite time with youth is spent in the outdoors doing recreational therapy and seeking adventures. In her free time, Valerie is an avid gardener, enjoys spending time with her three children and volunteers as a volleyball coach for youth club teams.
Melanie is EGALA certified to provide therapy with horses. She grew up near Las Vegas riding horses daily and spending lots of time team roping and riding for the past 18 years. Her passion is to help facilitate the use of these beautiful creatures as proven and powerful therapeutic tools for struggling teens. Melanie enjoys spending time outdoors with the youth she works with.
Jim has an extensive educational background for 39 years. He was a principal for 27 of those years. He earned a Doctorate of Education degree from the University of Utah, He is particularly motivated in helping youth in alternative educational settings access educational needs specific to their situations. Jim is an excellent addition to the Red Hawk Team!
Brenda has been working in the medical field for 38 years. She coordinates all medications and medical psychiatric care for the girls at Red Hawk Academy. She graduated from Southern Utah University. She enjoys keeping up with her 4 grown beautiful children, and traveling the world when she can.
Adon Pearson was born in Boulder, Colorado, and raised in Arizona. He has been in practice for over 10 years as a Physicians Assistant. He enjoys spending time with his family, out door activities, and traveling. Adon graduated with a Master of Health Professions Education from Midwestern University College of Health Sciences in Glendale AZ. He has a great understanding of what these young people goes through, and plays a big role in balancing proper medication for Red Hawk Academy for Girls residents.
Sarah graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Southeast Missouri State University and is currently working to complete her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. Since 2011, Sarah has worked with both adults and youth in various settings and professional roles. Sarah believes that every individual possesses unique strengths that can be developed to help them grow and accomplish their goals. She has experience working with individuals and families, and is passionate about promoting healthy family systems. Sarah is committed to helping Red Hawk continue to be a place of healing, growth, and opportunity for its residents, families, and community. In her free time, Sarah enjoys photography, writing, and spending time with family.
Terri grew up in Las Vegas in a large, active family. She has over 35 years of experience working in numerous fields; including sales/marketing, hospitality, medical & legal. She believes, with the strong team at Red Hawk by their side, our teams will learn to heal, grow, & set important goals for now & the future. Terri enjoys watching professional sports, traveling & swimming
